I cannot understand what the hesitation stems from unless Obama's promise to be a a "fierce advocate" was just talk. The longer he delays on taking any positive action on DADT, ENDA or DOMA, the more the LGBT family sees him as just another politician that used their cause for votes.
It's madness. And who better to illustrate that fact than Stephen Colbert.

Sadly, Obama seems to be catering to the never-right-wing far too much. If he isn't careful Gary Trudeau is going to put a waffle over his head like he did with Bill Clinton :-(. I did not expect all the liberal stuff the rabid lefties did out of Obama, having known far too many black professionals in my life (they are fundamentally conservative for the most part even if they do believe in social justice and vote Democrat), but certainly didn't expect this catering to a marginalized minority...
