About Me

  • I'm a forty-something mother of two twenty-something daughters who spends way to much time on the Internet.
  • In case you can't tell from what I post, I'm a Democrat. And proud of it.
  • I have three dogs - Rowan, Myrddin and Aibhne. (Technically, Aibhne is my Youngest's dog, but since she lives with me and not her mama, I claim her.)
  • My husband's hair is about 10" longer than mine.
  • I believe LGBT rights is the civil rights issue of this generation.
  • I believe that not all Christians are nut jobs. Just the loud ones.

Kaitlyn Sheffield: "Yea, and the Lord spaketh unto Itawamba, 'Itawamba, pull thine heads out of thine buttocks and leave Constance alone, for she is My child as much as any of you are. Thine internet and IRL shenanigans have greatly displeased me, so I say unto you, cease and desist. Go forth and teacheth thine children to love one another, as well as proper grammar, and leavest thou the task of judgement unto Me. Or dost thou thinkst thou canst do a better job?'" - The Book of Kaitlyn

"Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home." - Glen Bateman, The Stand (C&U), 3rd paragraph of Chapter 42.

Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work- Stephen King

"Every world has dogs or their equivalent, creatures that thrive on companionship, creatures that are of a high order of intelligence although not of the highest, and that therefore are simple enough in their wants and needs to remain innocent. The combination of their innocence and their intelligence allows them to serve as a bridge between what is transient and what is eternal, between the finite and the infinite." Dean Koontz, "One Door Away from Heaven"

"If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people - their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties - someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad; if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal."
- John F. Kennedy

"I believe that activism is important. Activism is change. It is the fuel, lubricant and engine that drives the slowing moving turtle-mobile that is progress."
--Will Phillips, age 10.

"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
  Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost
